The Artist

I was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I completed my studies in the social sciences at the Universidad del Salvador, Buenos Aires before emigrating to the United States. In Los Angeles, I worked as an intern for a commercial illustrator and set designer. I moved to San Diego in 1981 and worked as a graphic artist and commercial illustrator while taking painting classes. In 1995 I formed my own advertising and design agency. Since 2008 I’ve worked as a free-lance brand consultant. My professional work helped me develop proficiency in illustration techniques and discipline of execution while cultivating knowledge and experience with digital tools. I also began to explore other forms of expression other than the purely commercial ones.

The approach is minimalist. I express emotions, moods, and feelings using vector lines and gradients. I like working with very tight constraints and limitations. I use an illustration program rather than digital painting programs to avoid the risk (or temptation) to replicate other media in the execution.

My work follows two different paths: abstract composition and social observation. My goal is to reflect the dichotomy between sensuality and unresolved conflict saturating our world —both at a social and individual level. I use abstraction as a means to explore the causes of such dichotomy.
